Many years ago, I visited the volcanic rocks of Iceland for the first time. I remember the purity within the rock’s dark mineral composition: the strikingly beautiful contrast to the softer blue tone of water. In this piece, volcanic rock surfaces while dissipating concurrently in surrounding water—creating a cyclical counterclockwise movement of time within space.
