Painting Komorebi II2026

ink and acrylic on linen
18 x 24 cm

As a child, I practiced piano for many years before taking music composition courses. Notating became a medium, writing music became drawing and time became linear unfolding: a line drawn in present tense. Music notation is traditionally instructive. I've wondered how the same notations may breathe and stand alone as visual harmonies. Here, a singular eighth note chord is translated through a sequence of evolving lines—accumulating an atmospheric density like individual leaves.
