Sequential Refraction II

graphite and kozo paper on canvas
41 x 41 cm
2022
When I first glued the pieces of washi onto the canvas, many lines faded. In an attempt to retrace each line, new lines were created and the piece shifted. This shift is a metaphor for time and memory. The more I try to remember a moment in my life by gluing it into my memory, the more it slips away from me like the fading lines.
